Teaching

Since 2013 Alice has been on the faculty at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music at Sydney University.

Alice places strong focus on correct and efficient use of the body following the Salzedo technique, and influenced by the Alexander and Feldenkrais methods, with an emphasis on building a solid, relaxed technical basis to equip the student for life-long development at the instrument.

Alice has an impressive international reputation as a teacher, having given master classes in the Salzburg Mozarteum, The Hague Conservatorium, Royal Academy London, Guildhall, Juilliard School, Curtis Institute, San Francisco Conservatory, Cleveland Institute, Glenn Gould School Toronto, Detmold Hochschule, R. Schumann Hochschule, Conservatorio G. Verdi Milano, Parma Conservatorio, Norwegian Academy of Music, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Basel Schola Cantorum, Lucerne Hochschule and Vancouver School of Music. While living in Germany she was on the faculty of the Frankfurt Hochschule für Musik, the International Youth Festival in Bayreuth and gave an annual Summer Course in Alf/Mosel, Germany 1989-1998. She was previously Associate Professor at the ANU School of Music.
